What Do You Think About When You Hear eClinicalWorks® RCM?
When you hear RCM(revenue cycle management), does it have any meaning to you? If it does, then what exactly does it mean to you and your medical practice. We understand the question will receive different answers, and the type of answer we will receive will greatly depend on who we ask.
Every medical practice is different and unique in their own ways. Every practice will have a variety of needs they have to fulfill, from patient care to billing. There are a few steps any practice can take to improve revenue, lower the number of claims that are not fully paid, lower the number of payer rejections, and decrease how many days claims are sitting in accounts receivable.
Here are some things your practice should always keep in mind.
Claims Submission
You should always strive to submit claims on a daily basis. You should never have so many claims waiting to be submitted that the process becomes a major confusion. You want to be able to manage all of your claims; if you are unable to manage your claims, it can take a huge toll on your practice. When you submit claims daily, it will make the practice flow a little smoother.
Insurance Verification
You should verify the patient’s insurance as soon as he or she checks in, and not afterwards. You will want to be sure the patient’s insurance will cover the specific treatment or procedure the patient needs.
Reports
When you review reports periodically, you will ensure yourself, your employees, and your patients that your practice is moving in the right direction. When you begin to make notes of your practice’s trends and processes, you may discover some critical errors you have made in the past after you go back and review those reports.
If you want that claims of your practice are submitted on daily basis, insurance verification is done prior to claim submission and you receive reports periodically and regularly, it is time that you implement eClinicalWorks® RCM, it will not only ease your life but also the overall production of your practice will certainly see improvements.
